BECK COTTAGE, TROUTBECK BRIDGE

Beck Cottage, totally refurbished in 2022, is a traditional, 2 bed Lakeland stone cottage, dating from the mid 1800s lying nestled at the foot of the Troutbeck Valley making it the ideal base for visiting the lakes, fells and villages of the National Park and the wider Cumbria area.  This end terrace cottage lies approximately 50 yards along an easily navigable lane directly off the main A591 Windermere to Ambleside road in a small mixed hamlet of similar properties and others dating from as early as the 1600s.    Windermere, with its shops (including a Booths supermarket), cafes and amenities lies a mile in one direction and Ambleside is approximately 3 miles in the other direction.  At the rear of the property is a garden area with small lawn and graveled patio area with table and four chairs.  Also at the side of the cottage there is a large lawned area where children could play.  Two good sized cars can be parked on a private driveway directly adjacent to the cottage, so if you want to leave your car and avoid the traffic and having to search for car parking there is a bus stop at the end of the lane with frequent services to take you wherever you want to go.  The eastern fells, the popular Kentmere Horseshoe and the High Street Range are readily accessible on foot directly from the cottage as are many other walks. For all ages Brockholes Lake District Visitor Centre (Brockhole on Windermere | Lake District Visitor Centre | Brockhole ) is just over 1 mile along the A591 towards Ambleside.   The young and the young at heart will find many activities there.  The Sun Hotel, serving drinks and meals, is a gentle stroll away where the lane meets the main road and there is a well-stocked Spar shop across the main road. 

The cottage consists of: 

Porch where boots and raincoats can be stored 

Lounge with 2 sofas, 43 inch Smart TV with NETFLIX and Gas coal effect cast iron stove 

Kitchen with Bosch gas hob and electric oven, dishwasher, built-in under counter fridge with freezer compartment, microwave, table and chairs for 4 people, kettle, toaster, espresso coffee maker (pods not supplied) and all pots, pans, cutlery etc. (Please note, there is no washing machine) 

Bed 1 with king sized bed, wardrobe and drawers 

Bed 2 with twin beds and wardrobe 

Shower room with sink, toilet and Mira mains mixer shower and cubicle 

Outside – Gravelled patio with table and chairs to seat 4 people, a barbecue  and small grassed area to the rear and a large lawned garden area to the side of the property.  Private parking for 2 good sized cars. 

The property has full gas central heating and fast fibre broadband / WIFI. 

Bedding, towels, gas and electricity are included. 

Sorry but no dogs or other pets allowed.
